Tea Time

Thia arrived last week but I wasn't able to think about it, or any food or drink, until today.

Tea Time

From left to right, we have Nonsuch Black Tea, Lavender Tea, Bingo Blueberry, Lover's Leap Black Tea, Blackforest Black Tea, and Florida Orange Rooibos. This should last a while.

Shauna reading - I like this pic.

Lucy and Katy

They do this every night after dinner. Can you tell which one is dominant? Or which one is crazy? :)

April 28, 2007

More money plants.

They are all mixed in with the yet to bloom lilacs. I can't remember the last time they grew around here, and now they are everywhere.

Will there be any magnolia blooms this year? The cold weather may have killed them.

The sky looks neat. I wasn't able to make it outside today. My substitute photographer took today's pics.

New Goodies

This arrived in the mail today.

Knitpicks Options Needle Set

Yarn!

It's a shame I'm still too sick to really play with my new toys.

No picture today.

Food poisoning or the flu? I don't care, I just want it to go away. It's been brutal.

Fridge contents

My upstairs office fridge.

This could be better stocked.

Dublin Day

Today's appointment took me to Dublin (the Ohio one, not the other one, unfortunately), so I went to one of my favorite tea places, TehKu. If I overheard a conversation correctly, they will be opening another one somewhere.

Maybe this summer I will get a better picture of it.

And look what I noticed in the yard today - Money plants. Now we will be rich.

Sunny Sunday

A while back, I told RM that he was going to have to start buying his own shirts. It's not that I mind shopping for him, it was that I didn't want to be one of those couples who sometimes find themselves dressed alike. I tend to buy colors and styles I like, whether it's for me or for him. He needs his own style.

I hadn't thought about Shauna and I having that problem. Today we were the alternate of each other.

She was very quick to announce that she was dressed first today. My clothes decision process was like this "Hmm, I only have white pants underwear in my drawer so I should wear white pants."

We went to check out The Art Museum.

My photographer of the day wasn't moved by anything she saw, so no pics were taken, except for this...

She is a lovely young maiden!

Then we went to The Topiary Garden, where Shauna walked around the park and took pics,

while I sat on a bench and worked on a sock.

Today's Jeni's ice cream flavor was Butterscotch Cocoa Nibs for me and Lemon Yogurt for Shauna. I wonder if I can get through the whole list this summer....

This is the Indian dish RM made for dinner, starting with dried chickpeas. It was really good.

Spring again?

Not a lot of shade yet, but I today I took the chair to sit in the yard. This is also where my hammock should go, but I think Lucy would chew through the ropes, so maybe next year.

Speaking of Lucy (don't be fooled by the innocent look).

She likes it when I sit outside :)

Qiviut

Qiviut is Musk Ox down. Maybe a good word for scrabble too.

This is my newest lace knitting book (a b-day present!) and I've started a scarf, but I'm not using qiviut.
I may have to try to find some just to see how it feels.

Shauna Day!

Ryan surprises Shauna at the restaurant, Barley's

Forgetfulness

I have been in a brain fog lately. Today I forgot to take my camera anywhere with me. Looking around this room, the cutest thing in here is my baby.
Katy

She waits while I play on the computer.

In case I forget my name, this will come in handy.

I got to babysit again!

This time, I'll show the cats :) They are starting to get used to me.

This is Dusty.

And here's Charley.

This is Ryan getting home from work. Isn't he handsome?

And let the record show, that on today's date, in April 2007, there was blue sky in Central Ohio.

It was a bit disorienting.....

Oh color, where art thou?

Anything that bloomed during our one week of spring is long gone from the cold and snow. So I went to the Franklin Park Conservatory seeking color before hitting the mean streets of the city for work.

A blue ribbon daffodil.

Pretty color.

A babysitting day!

I can't show pictures of her (her parent's request) so I'll show pictures of her room

Someone likes Care Bears!

My other photographer wanted a pic of my dinner. We ate at El Rancho Grande in Troy. They serve sides of cilantro :)

Ralph

This is Ralph. He's my local supervisor and he makes the job much less annoying than it could be. He's one of the good guys. He is not the one who gave me the candy bar - that came from the office in Detroit.

April 12, 2007

The way my employer thanks me.

A candy bar. Your tax dollars are not wasted on me, rest assured.

This is the library I go to get a stack of books I don't read and then return.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Notice how gloomy the day is. I'm ready for a change in that. At least I have some chocolate....

Down on the farm.

My friend Peggy has been wanting to go to a Tea Room that's not very close by. When I was glancing through my Metro Parks book, I saw that they were having a wool demonstration at the one near the tea place she wanted to try. I thought combining the two would make it worth the trip, and I could hike a new trail!

Today was cold and rainy. She wasn't happy with her food. Once you get outside of the city, it seems like the definition of good food changes. Columbus has lots of great food and I think I get spoiled by that.

So then we went to Slate Run

We saw some chickens.

We saw a couple of bulls. Big bulls.

They were making cookies in the kitchen - we didn't wait for them, but the kitchen looked darn nifty.

This is Peggy in the kitchen.

Then we watched the wool turning into yarn for a while.

From there we went to a trail, but it was too cold and rainy. I walked a very short loop while she stayed in the car. I will probably go back to it sometime - the trail is grass and goes around a lot of water - looks like fun.

On the way back we stopped at Jeni's. Check out the list of flavors. I had Strawberry Rose Petal and it was delicious and brightened up a dreary day.
